hey guys, i feel v stressed and down at the moment which isnt a great way to start but hey lol i go to college, work, gym and play golf and although i hate moaning about such insignificant problems in comparison to others, i feel down about this workload. I want to be a golfer but am going to college as a 'back-up' for safety in case it doesnt work out. But im busy alot and find it hard to relax and take my mind off things. I would really appreciate some advice on maybe stress management as i dont believe its what i do thats the problem, just the perspective i view it from. Thanks everyone

Hi Rikki,

Let's imagine that the least I could do for you was to give you just one day off from being stressed.

All I need to know is what do I need to do to get get stressed about things for you from your perspective.

How do I know when to get stressed?

How do I know when "it" is working (ie I'm now stressed)

What do I need to feel.

Once you've given me this information, I'm more than happy to do a day for you. Just let me know how you enjoyed yor day off from stress in return.

Kindest regards
Mark

Ok mark sounds interesting Smiley you basically are going to get stressed when you believe you're being pushed too far. (ie at work when it's never ending and your exhausted) going to the gym after college when your exhausted.

It's almost like a wave of uncontrollable anger actually and very hard to control, so im afraid you may have to punch the nearest door......no jk Smiley

I think i over stress myself with always thinking about work i have to have finished for college too. i didnt enjoy xmas holidays for instance because i was always thinking 'i have to get this done' etc

Have a good day!

Hi Rikki,

Mark has given you a very kind offer there. I've done temp roles in the past and found that the more detail instructions you get at the start the better"stand in" job you do, you may find that Mark needs a bit more information. For instance, what perspective does he need to view these from? Michaels tip of the day, today ("TIVO for your Brain") may give you a bit of inspiration  Wink

Hi Rikki,

Thanks for that. I'm almost ready to give you a day off however Jen is right (how did you know Jen??  Wink )

Just need a little more information..................

Ok mark sounds interesting  you basically are going to get stressed when you believe you're being pushed too far. (ie at work when it's never ending and your exhausted) going to the gym after college when your exhausted.

Cool, how specifically do I know I'm getting stressed? Imagine just before I get stressed, what happens to tell me to start getting stressed? Will I need to talk to myself, feel something physical or start to see pictures or a movie in my head?

Ah, ok..... where does that wave start in my body, where does it move to and how fast? Also, if I could see it, what colour might it be? Would I ever be able to control it? And what would happen if I did?

I think i over stress myself with always thinking about work i have to have finished for college too. i didnt enjoy xmas holidays for instance because i was always thinking 'i have to get this done' etc [/i]

What would have happened if you hadn't got it done? If, indeed, you did.

If my questions look, sound, feel a little strange - let me know because that's ok. However, humour me and answer the best you can. That's all I ask in return for your day off. Hey answer them really well and I'll make it two days off.............. or even maybe forever!

Have fun

You will need to speak to yourself in a very aggressive voice saying how hard this is, and usually how bored you are being stuck when you really want to be somewhere else!

Ah, ok..... where does that wave start in my body, where does it move to and how fast? Also, if I could see it, what colour might it be? Would I ever be able to control it? And what would happen if I did?

I think it comes up from my feet, and shoots up to my chest. it is controllable but i feel if i let it out instead of holding it in it helps release the anger/ frustration quickly. if i hold it in i feel powerless and often mildly depressed. There usually is a split second before i turn that is an option but sometimes its so powerful i go with it.

What would have happened if you hadn't got it done? If, indeed, you did.

To be honest this really annoyed me because i got alot of work that needed to be in finished. But when i went back to college they had almost re-wrote the rules so even if i hadnt done ANYTHING it would have been ok. So not only did i spent time doing the work, i spent about 4 times as long worrying about it as 'background stress'.

I have noticed some very obvious things writing this. Speaking to myslef this way will always lead to this kind of behaviour.

Thanks again mark

Rikki
