OK Michael. "You can have what you want" didn't make it into my top two. Great read with lots of amazing advice but in the end it was pipped by these gems.

*TIME FOR A CHANGE* by Richard Bandler. I have to say that when I got into the first few pages I was like "WHOAA!!! what is this crazy bizzareness!!!". I was totally hooked. Some of the stories had me in fits of giggles and others made me think of memories that paralleled the anecdote. Some I still scratch my head at as I have no idea consciously what the link is Huh. There are some claims that some might find hard to believe. One of my strongest beliefs is that "anything is possible" and always keep an open mind on theses things. 10/10

*ADVENTURES OF ANYBODY" by Richard Bandler. I read this after Time For A Change so I thought I was prepared. However this one had my brow knotted with a constant question "What the hell is going on!?". The first reading was a blur. The second reading I thought I was starting to get it. By the third a whole new understanding took place but I'm still confused as hell as to what 75% of the book is about. Thousands of bells anyone Huh. Looking forward to my close encounter of the fourth kind. 10/10

Good shout Nick. I've thought about getting the CDs for a while to see where the story takes me as the listener rather than the internal orator. I'm working on so many adventures of the mind at the moment with my most recent being 5 minutes ago where I set up a very powerful motivation anchor and ran through an exercise program in my mind while holding the anchor. Off to wear out my new chinning bar Grin

The CDs create a very different experience and are a wonderful fairytale. You can get them from www.purenlp.com

Hi all,

Not an NLP book at all really, but as an entrepenurial type, the one book i got the most from over the past 12 months or so was 'A whole New Mind' By Daniel H. Pink.

Wont go into too much detail here, but if you have any inclination towards using your NLP skills in a business context....read this book.

Cheers,

Mark

Also check the George Ross book on negotiation. George is Donald Trump's right hand guy. Not an NLP book, but a useful read!

My favourite self help book was bought for me by my son. For my birthday he bought me a leather bound note book. The pages are pure white, unlined, unstained not even by, this book belongs to. Everyday I open it an plan my day, every page has a task, or something I want to do.

Carte Blanche to do whatever, however I choose. It has been the best self help book, in that, every exercise contained within the mini tome works, and changes everyday to what ever I require. The front page is a question sheet, it always asks the same question, What do you want?, the following pages go from there. I would suggest if you want a copy, drop me an email to order the most inspirational book I have ever found.

I would recommend that everyone should have one. Relatively cheap and no great waiting list from the likes of Amazon.

Remember, write nothing down, although you should use it to plan everyday.

Check it out, make up your own way of using it, you don't have to go by the book!

Hi Mark. I have just restarted a ritual that I used to do a few years back. It comes from Tony Robbins book 'AWAKEN THE GIANT WITHIN'. It is asking the 'power questions' every morning. When I first used to do it I would religiously force myself first thing in the morning upon waking to answer the positively directed questions. Force seems apt for how I would have to struggle to motivate myself to drive through with quality answers. My life seemed to be flying after a couple of weeks doing this. Then I got side tracked with getting on with my life and the questions disappeared into the mists of time.

Well for the last 2 weeks I've been back off the wagon and feeling motivated to ask once again. I feel like I did as a kid on Christmas morning opening presents or running along a beach splashing in the sea on long sunny summer days (yes... we do get them in Scotland... occasionally!). The first questions I ask are "What am I happy about in my life now?" ... "What about that makes me happy?" ... "How does that make me feel?". I then run through the same format of questions for motivation... excitement... gratefulness... enjoyment... commitment and of course love. Takes me about 10 to 15 minutes each morning and it sets me up for the day in a way similar to how liquid hydrogen sends the shuttle into space. I recommend this to everyone I meet who looks like they need a pick me up.

One thing I've noticed from the last time I did the questions is that I have learned a lot about internal states and amplification of them. So when I experience excitement etc I feel it with a powerful intensity. Phenomenal comes to mind.
