Just started watching HD DVD movies and the difference in quality is quite amazing, especially with a 5ft x 5ft image projected from an HD projector. We know from NLP that making pics bigger and brighter changes the perception, but the new HD standard which is 3.75 times dharper than standard DVD creates a whole new wayching experience. Not many films are out at present, but Serenity and Batman Begins are already firm favourites with this format. Also Sony have produced HD cameras and in 2 weeks time we'll be recording Frank Farrelly in HD at the UK PT event

Very cool Nick! Will you be producing HD disks (which sort!), or using it to make better quality SD DVDs?
Cheers,
Martin.

How was it? And how is HD production in general?
Love to hear your experiences, being another Mac person that makes videos...
Cheers,
Martin.

The editing software for HD is not really "ready yet" However we used the new Sony HD cameras to shoot some footage of Frank Farrelly commenting on two phobia sessions I did for the forthcoming DVD release and it was great not to have to use tape! I am watching HD movies (HDD format as opposed to Blue Ray) and they are massively better than standard DVD. We watched The Matrix trilogy which was excellent and fortunately these discs are region free!
I'm in NY next month so I'll be visiting B and H Photo which is the ultimate video/audio store on the planet for cool gear...

Ooo.. I can feel the tech-lust from here!
Being simple I'll probably go with iMovie HD (the price is right!) initially and wait until I can't do what I'm trying to before going to Final Cut Express/Pro.
A friend of mine is recording a (non-NLP) training soon, and will be editing on his daughter's MacBook, since it's a simple job and the MB has everything already on it. Do you do all your editing yourself, or sub it out?
Cheers,
Martin.

My good friend Paul Wright did the editing in Final Cut Pro. The final DVDs are great and thanks to Michael Neill for suggesting I release this as a teaching aid!

One to bear in mind - I think Paul's based just up the road from me.
Thanks,

He is, but he is really busy as am I with all the private work! We are both on the Just Be Well network and this July has been crazy with work, almost 100% up on an average month!

Wow - what's made it so busy? Higher profile, or a glut in people needing help?

I think its a combination of a number of factors, including new articles, products and raised awareness. I already have 25 clients booked for the August period which is amazing for this time of year. I have referals from a host of different places and people so don't actually do any other advertising these days! The great thing about seeing so many people is that it really sharpens up the skills. These days I use mainly PT and hypnosis with clients which some NLP depending on what is required

Do you find the process of dealing with so many people that you're developing new techniques/patterns that you reuse, or each time is different? I remember PaulMcKenna mentioning that he thinks he's got a great pattern for sorting out body dysmorphia - I'm wondering if you end up generating "new patterns" or improvise each time?
I think there's value to both, in that new communicable patterns advance the art for everyone who learns them, and it's my view that someone you're working will be best served by an individual (possibly) unique response, to the individual (possibly unique) stuff they want sorting out.
Cheers,
Martin.

Yes there are definite patterns for issues such as bulimia, depression, anger etc which are amazingly consistant in clients. I have an excellent process for seeing clients with a pre session questionaire, process of recording each session (every client gets this on CD) and follow up. All sessions are 1 hour and I'll see up to 6 without a break on any given day. Generally I see around 40 - 45 in any given month, as I also allow 3 days a week for other projects! On the TCNLP Master Prac we are running an NLP as an application in business and/or therapy and I'll be discussing and teaching some of the processes I use on these days. I also intend to run a "Provocative Change Works" seminar showing the combination of PT, NLP and Hypnosis that I used on the forthcoming DVD set!

Hi Nick
I am interested that you see 6 clients in a day without a break. My (very limited) experience of seeing clients has been that after they go, I am left with this huge high, but completely exhausted. I can't imagine doing another session straight away.
Maybe this is because I haven't the practice and experience you have. Did you feel exhausted when you still had 'L' plates like me?
Thanks.
Sophie

Hi
So much depends on the clients. This week I have seen 12 people over two days with an hour's break each day and I have found the energy level great. My advice is really pay attention to how you feel and see what works best for you!

Nick
