Can some one please give me some advice about market my self as a coach. So I can get more clients. Today I market my self as ?a specialist on changing unwanted behavior and thinking pattern? But what I understand about marketing is that if you nisch you get more clients? So is ?a specialist on changing unwanted behavior and thinking pattern? to wide?
Then I?m thinking which clients I like to work with. It?s them who want a kick in the ass get out there and do it, in other words ?believe in your self? or is that to wide? Or is it better?
Or do I chunk more?
Them I like working with is a man in the age 30 to 45 who is stuck in some thinking pattern about himself. He wants to get out there and do something, break free from the fears or social environment who's belief  keeps him from going.

Some comments?

Hey, Plenia -

I'm not a big fan of "nicheing" as a tactic - if you keep coaching, you'll wind up finding the type of people you like to work with and that will organically become your niche.

Having said that, one of the best ways of knowing if you are being sufficiently specific in targeting your clients is to ask people "do you know who NOT to refer to me?"

The easier it is for them to answer that question, the more effectively you've identified your ideal clients.

You might like the programs they offer at www.perfectcustomers.com - if memory serves they're relatively inexpensive and useful when you're first starting out (or looking to take things up a notch...)

happy exploring,

Ultimately, Plenia, I believe that people get more and more clients as they become more and more effective coaches., which is why the marketing advice I give most often is "learn to make even more of a difference with your clients'!

Having said that...

What do you love to do?

Do you love to go on telly?  Speak?  Write?

Do you love to network?  Create products?

Are you an internet junkie and tech guru in the making?

Or do you simply love to coach?

The "right" way to market your practice will be a combination of doing those things you love enough to do even if they never bring you a single client AND  making proposals to your potential clients - in other words, inviting them to come work with you in ways that are enticing for them and delightful for you!

Happy exploring,
michael
