All of the above---I am a researcher---love the idea that our mind can create anything. i question everthing and research all, to find the truth. Obsessed in understanding what motivates anyone and everyone. Hense my study in Astrology and Psychology. Now my interest in NLP.My hurdle is my memory...I LOVE the info I get and I have an abundance of AHA moments...yet remembering the info to put it to use is my issue, and my block to move on--any quick fixes. I love buddism and am studing as well. Not sure if there is a GOD-you now white bearded father-like figure that LOVES US unconditionally and rules all. Yet iI know there is a power. I am interested in so many areas. I am an astrologer that is not MAIN STREAM. I wish to empower---assist---not brain wash or predict. Can anyone help? That is if you can get my jibberish LOL..Thank YOu in advance

Hey, me too!!!   Grin

I am really good at getting myself into a 'this **** doesn't work' trap, even when I KNOW that it does, and I KNOW that being negative makes life worse...and so on.

I don't know of any 'quick' fixes (would love to hear some!), but I do know to turn myself around, again and again and again.  Here's what I do:  I notice what works to move my mood around, and I do it as soon as I remember.

2 things that work really well for me are 'working up the emotional scale' (Abraham Hicks), and 'a better thought' - this is where I think a thought, like 'life sucks', then think a slightly better thought 'I'm having a bad morning', then a slightly better one 'I have a better life than 90% of the world population', then the best thought I can think that day 'I LOVE life!'

Also, connecting with that 'power' on a regular basis - daily, hourly, whatever works, to remember that the power is there, and the love you feel connected with it is AMAZING.  Well, it makes my cynicism melt away!

Hope this is helpful.

Love

Oh, anybody works for me!

'God', Goddess, Guardian Angels, Spirit, Guides, Friends, Family, Forums...

To me, it doesn't seem to matter 'who' I ask, just that I ask, and help comes in whatever way from whatever source.

Love

I was wondering if I could get an answer about an issue I'm having about astrology.

How does astrology go together with the fact that we are creators of our own future?
I'm having a real hard time dealing with some readings I got from different astrologers. I have a problem dealing with some negative predictions, I entrap myself in those things astrologers said like they "must be right", and by doing that I am unable to go for the positive outcome, for "there is no use in doing that anyway if the outcome can be only that".... It hangs around as a negative affirmation....  Cry
And as I believe that we are the creators of our own future, how do I continue to do what I believe in, what I want to do? It makes me very sad that I sabotage myself in that way.... does anyone have any input?

One of my own solutions of this was that the astrology is fake, only the part of it that describes our personalities by our signs (sun, moon and ascendant) can be somewhat right. But I can't seem to really accept this one for some of the things that the astrologers said about my past were true and I have found some of the predictions to be true....
So I chose another explanation for me not to listen to what the astrologers said might happen.... and that is, that the astrology is far too complex for us to understand it now and to be 50-100% certain something will happen... the astrologers themselves get into arguments about the positions of the planets and what they are supposed to mean.... there is no one clear theory.... Some of them predicted totally opposite things that would happen... (for example, one predicted that I would not inherit anything in my life and the other that I would get A LOT of an inheritance - they can't both be right)

I would really like some guidance if anyone has anything to say.... for I know I am responsible for myself and my beliefs co-create my future.... And I don't want to believe something someone said just because they said it.... Smiley

My take on astrology is the same with anything else: it is just an idea. It is a story about the future. It may come true. It may not. Just like any other story you may tell about the future. Believing any one of our stories won't make them necessarily true. Reality is here and now. Any thoughts about the future are just projections of our mind, and none of it is true in this moment because it hasn't happened yet. It is just fantasy and none of it is true.

Chose those actions you think will lead to the story you want. Wishing will not make something so without your participation and action. As for your statement: "we are creators of our own future" I would add "and not necessarily the one we want". We are more like 'influencers' of our future. Most things are just simply our of our hands. Wisdom is know which is which Wink

There is of course a world of difference between astrology as depicted in the newspaper and astrology as professionally calculated which can produce very useful probabilities in diferent areas of life. There is also Western Astrology and Eastern astrology which differ. In WW2 Churchill, Hitler and De Gaulle all used professional astrologers to determine different factors relating to military strategy. Most astrology in the public domain is really a pop version and of course quite ludicrously generalised!

I have used a professional astrologer fro years as an additional soundig board for some business strategy to excellent effect. After 30 years I have enough evidence to show that both Astrology professionally calculated and other systems such as The I Ching can be really useful tools in life. They don't "predict te future" but rather provide another perspective that is often very useful, IF the practitioner is properly skilled...
