Hi,
I hope this doesn?t sound strange, but could someone here please give me a preview of John Grinder?s book ?Red Tail Maths??
I have a theory that book is about a special paradigm that allows people to turn science fiction into science fact. However, I?m not sure if this is just a fancy illusion that I?ve fallen for.
Are there going to be architectonic shifts in society that allow people to develop virtual reality machines as socially useful empathy builders? The prospect of that is incredibly cool to me, but I don?t want to fall for a psychological trap based on vanity.
When I was thinking about writing this message, I had some other ideas in my head, but I can?t seem to remember them now. I have an intuition that the people here basically understand what I?m on about.
I have some important decisions to make about my future and fear of the future is currently a big problem for me as it affects several life choices I?m trying to make. (William Gibson once said 'The Future is already here, it's just not evenly distributed yet.')
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give me with this. I?ll definitely read any replies, even if I don?t know how to reply to them.

Hi I don't think the book has been published yet- I just checked Amazon USA and UK- and it's not there- and I also checked Anglo American Books and they don't have either- it seems this book has been in the pipeline for sometime, yet it never seems to get a release date- you could check out http://www.nlpacademy.co.uk/ which is John Grinder's UK home- and you could ask on the forum there- you might get a response- Jay

Many thanks for that advice. I'll try when I get time.
BTW, do you have any advance knowledge about what's going to happen in 2008? I have a sense that 'the evolution of consciousness of the species' is happening as per Joseph Riggio's October 10th Podcast (mythoself.blogspot.com). It's very scary but also exciting.
Here are some things that are currently troubling me:
-There seems to be a cyclical hypnotic pattern in the media. In the even numbered years the media's news agenda and mentality seems to be negative. Then in the odd numbered years they're very positive.
However, there's an organic transition between the two polarities, which is most noticeable in February and November. The styling of this hypnotic pattern is reminisent of Taoism (yin and yang) and the Dominic Method (as far as I remember, that is a special memory technique which involves associating a specific person with each number between 00 and 99). In fact, certain celebrities seem to personify particular trends in the media, and that makes them fairly straightforward to associate with particular years, which in turn makes it easy to relate them to numbers.
Nobody really seems to talk openly about all this. I sometimes wonder if this is a 'magic helper experience' (as per the Mythoself process) aimed at 20-somethings. I didn't ask for all this psychology in the media and my life, and the mental changes involved are sometimes very painful. There's an awful lot of foreshadowing in the media about this sort of thing; some of it hopeful, some of it very scary.
I hope this isn't melodramatic, but I feel very overwhelmed by all this. And all the advice I get seems to be about experiential learning to make me self-sufficient, without just giving me a straightforward answer.
Again, thanks for the advice. I think that will work really well. (I have to finish writing now or I'll miss an appointment.)

Hi
I can't give you any answer to your questions as they are based of self- projections- thing's that your attention is focused on- so any reply that I gave would be at best speculative- which would not be the most functional way to reply- we humans are incredible and we have a paradoxical attribute that if used well make the world a wonderful place yet if used in other ways can create issues- "thinking" is this attribute- so my question is- what can you do about it? some things are out of ones control and we need to recognize what we can control and what we can't- thing's directly related to our selves- are things we can deal with- things out side of our selves well- we just have to make way for them and deal with our moment to moment narration with the world..
You can only deal with the moments you are in- anything related in the past has become a series of neuro-biochemical experiences- the so-called future is a conceptualisation of thought- and is out of ones direct control- so we are only left with the now- and thats all we can deal with.
So what can you do in this now that will give you what you need?
Jay

Thank you for that advice. It genuinely helped with the problems that lead to those questions. If it's ok, could I just ask one last question?
Unfortunately it's quite detailed, but this is the absolute last question.
--- Here are some quotes that I've been thinking about recently with regard to negativity from other people. ?It?s easy to outsmart the unfamiliar. Small minds condemn what they don?t understand.?- Choices and Illusions, Eldon Taylor ?Course, reaction, choice, effect.?- Effortless Success, Michael Neill
Ursula James talks about dealing with seemingly negative conversations by ?establishing clear boundaries?, considering if the other person is angry and tired, and then taking a break for a while. She also mentions that REM sleep helps to clear out negative thoughts.
How do I reconcile these three points of view when I feel bad about other people? Also, how do I deal with negative thoughts if I'm insomniac and don't feel like I'm getting proper REM sleep?
Many thanks in advance for any advice you can give me about the above.

Hi
You can ask as many question as you please- I will add more to this- and play with specifics when I come back later- yet in the mean time-
What would the differences be if you-
1- did not give a "shit" about the reconciled the 3 points?
2 - was at peace with the 3 points?
3 - looked at this way for thinking as if you was a young child- and an old sage?
4 - How would it been if you stepped in to each of the the points one by one and lived in each view point for a short while?
5 - How will you know you have reconciled and are living from a place of balance?
