I have to give props to Michael and Mark Forster on the amazing show on 7/27- "It's About Time". I have been a reluctant procrastinator my entire life- more to do with lack of organization and time management skills- than lack of motivation (I've come to find out). I would love for more ideas and resources regarding the topics of organization, time management, and effective creativity. Anyone?

Great show indeed.  I love the formula Creativity% X Order% = Effectiveness.  This is hitting it right on the head for me.
I knew I lacked the strong organization skills 30% and I felt that I only had to continue to increase my 70% creativity to increase my competence.  Thank you for the great insight.  By just imagining to attend to more orderliness, I see how brilliant this formula is in my performance.   Looking forward to also decreasing alot of stress in my life.   I can't wait for Mark Forester's book to arrive in the mail.

Michael-thank you for introducing me to so many interesting books and heartfelt
thought processes.

Hi Hillary,

I didn't hear the show you describe, I really am a "newbie".  I am also a lifelong procrastinator however, I have generally understood that it wasn't caused by lack of motivation. Until reading your post I would have been struggling to explain what the real cause was, and it is suddenly as clear as day.  Organization!  So, thank you for providing that.

You say you would be interested to hear about "Tools" and/or "Tips" for aiding organizational skills from others, I hope therefore you will forgive me if I'm preaching to the converted, or if I appear to be attempting to "teach grandma to suck eggs", but I think that the best thing to aid organization is "Mind-Mapping".

Mind-Mapping is a system invented by Tony Buzan, and he holds the copyright for it.  I don't know if you've heard of him, but he is renowned as an Educator amongst other things.  He has a number of books published including, "Head First" "Head Strong" and "The Ultimate Mind Map book".

The first one I bought and read was, "Head First" and I was just so inspired by it I have since bought most of the other books he has had published.  The mere reading of it will add enormously to your feeling of self-worth, and will empower you beyond belief.

He describes the Mind Map as, "The ultimate organizational thinking tool".  He further suggests that it can help one to, "Be more creative" "Study faster" "Save time" "Clarify your thinking" "Solve problems" "Concentrate" "Plan events" "Communicate" and "Motivate yourself and others".  Big claims certainly, but I have to concur.  A Mind Map can do all of these things, unless of course you put it of 'til tomorrow.

As explained I'm a new boy having only recently read Michaels book.  I find his "Jugglers guide to effective time management" particularly helpful, and I'm currently mind-mapping all of the things I want to do to help me prioritise the three that will flip my switch for the coming month.  It's a lot of fun.

Finally, there are "Buzan Centres" in the U.K. and also in Florida U.S.A  however it will probably be easier for you to get whatever information you need and a general "feel" of whether it is for you by visiting the web site at www.Mind-Map.com

I feel that I should suggest you tell him,"Fred sent me", but he /they wouldn't have a clue who I was.  I'm merely a fan.  I hope that you find this of some use.
