hey all,

I need some advice!

i was in a car accident earlier this year (feb) and am in the process of healing. I got the hip/neck/ankle combo wound and I'm kind of at a crossroads.

My hip is giving me the most pain and my orthopedist says my next option is surgery. ....which may or may not work and I'd have to be on crutches/do more PT etc etc. Not an appealing option. I had a steroid injection about 12 weeks ago that was pretty much a nightmare and I had side effects that were stressing.

I'm at a point now where the doctors seem to have nothing left to tell me except "keep going to physical therapy" or "surgery." I feel like there has to be something else. The PT is basically BS at this point. It's not helping. I feel like massage therapy would help greatly for my hip and neck, but it's not covered under insurance. I just turned 30 and am in really good shape. I practice yoga (as best i can) and I run as well (even though it hurts). Doctors say the wounds won't get worse if i work them, it will just hurt. Apparently it's a major buildup of scar tissue in the hip and ankle. I don't know about the neck.

and just as a note: i was hit by the car while crossing the street (not in a car) and my ankle was run over. All of the PT/etc is being covered under the insurance of the woman who hit me, but there's a limit and I don't know what to do if I'm not healed and I have to settle! Where does one go for this kind of info? I have a lawyer, but I want to be healed (in addition to being compensated.) I was very lucky by all accounts, but this process is a long windy confusing one!

thoughts/suggestions? Huh

thanks,
karen

Hi Karen

DR Ron's work is amazing for that type of stuff- the link is to his site worth reading the article and seeing if there is a PPT practitioner near to where you are-
