1  Coaching / Business Building Genius / Re: How did you get started? on: November 22, 2007, 12:25:45 PM
Hello! Cheesy

I started by coaching singers and teaching singing about 8 years ago. I can hear when voices reflect blocked emotions, so pretty soon I found myself talking about people's life in what was supposed to be a singing lesson.

To me that makes sense because the voice is the key to your soul. From there, i also offered stage and performance coaching, then focussed on confidence as this is what most performers need more of. From there I thought it might be good to get some other education on board in regarding the psychology of it all. so I studied with Newcastle college first for a certificate in life coaching, then for a diploma.

I recommend this option if you are already a coach and comfortable working with people. If you are new, go into a live situation, is my advice.

I also studied NLP with Paul McKenna, RIchard Bandler and of Course Michael Neill, I then did most of Christopher Howard's trainings which were very useful.

My coach at the time made me aware that building a practise is not always a matter of getting in people quick, it takes time to build a reputation.
Michael says if you want to be a coach, coach! the more you do, the better you get.

How did I make the leap to coach professionally?
Well, I guess it's more of a transition for me. I went into the business world for a few years to get the experience of using the tools in a "normal" "real world" environment and from there, went part-time and took on clients.

These clients are people who have seen the changes I have made and followed my work for a while. I write articles- I think that helps.

I have been working with Michael for the last 3 months ( he coaches me)- an important thing to do if you are thinking about being a coach, is to hire a good one yourself.
Or indeed the best- which is what I did.

I hope that helps?
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me, if you would like to read my articles, just send a blank email to diva_main@aweber.com,

good question!!

Lots of love,
Evelyne Tongue

it would take me...hmmm I'd go to a very swanky bar and pick up clients for life coaching- the one sitting talking to the cocktail waitress too much....

It would take me 1 evening!
wow...I could actually do that.
or I would go and hang out at the whole food store for the same reason...

3  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: NLP Courses - are they worth it? on: October 16, 2007, 11:13:17 AM
Hi there,
courses are as good as the people teaching them.
go and see michael in the Paul Mckenna training one, or Chris Howard does a free one- I can get you a free ticket if you wish.
Always get recommendations. most courses are rather pricey but if they are good, it's definately worth it.
information is what it's about...don't do it for a certificate. the certificate is worthless. if you wanted to go into coaching, I recommend working with a coach, lots of training and great experience. I work with people who walk their talk, not who hold the most certificates.
Personally I work as a Personal coach and NLP practioner in London, always happy to advise-
What is it you would like to get out of it?
4  Genius Catalyst / This, That and the Other / NLP seminar- free tickets on: September 17, 2007, 12:29:09 PM
Hello Everyone,
for those of you who love to develop and learn from different sources, I have free tickets to Chris Howards Breakthrough to Success seminar Sept. 28th to 30th in London.
I have attended this and other of his courses personally and found them very very good.
I have also studied with Michael, RIchard Bandler and Paul McKenna in their practitioner training- it's rather different. I recommend to do as much training as you can if you are serious about your growth!

If you would like to attend - you can bring your friends as well, just click below

6  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: What do i want to do when i grow up? on: September 14, 2007, 07:49:54 AM
Well hello!
And welcome to your life.
To answer your question if anyone can make a living from the things you love...well the people whose books you read, do!
and the people whose music you listend to...some of them are doing very well!
So the question becomes what?s next? Where do you go from here?
Career development and creative careering is a really interesting process.
Personally, I am bringing coaching tools and constructive thinking into music?self development in songs-
I work as a life coach witnessing the transformational process of people creating great lives for themselves and I write music.

I have been in business for a few years in the licensing industry to feel part of the business world, know what a ?real job? and a ?career? is like.
Now I use my passion for getting people to move forward in life and performing- I love being on stage- being ?on? and allow the good life to evolve around it.
If you like listening to some stuff and give me some feedback- www.divaeve.com the music on my site is not the latest stuff ( yet)but it gives you a feel!
Or itunes of course?you know you don?t even have to do it all on your own?there are people out there who are looking for people to join their teams and build something grand?.l Wink
7  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: How do you keep track of all your 'stuff'? on: September 14, 2007, 07:39:18 AM
What a great question!
Let's get organized!

I keep a coaching folder on computer and hard copy where I keep all my notes.

there are goal lists in there as well and scheduled review times.

vision board- I love it..it's over my bed, so I see it first and last thing and it makes me smile!!

contacts: phone, computer, excel sheets and I use professional mailing program for people who want to stay in the loop with what I do, receive coaching tips and free tickets to events etc.

task lists are great

I use a little booklet that I review and write in and replace when all is done

BUT the real thing is in your mind and heart. if it's not in there, no organizational system will help.
And it has to work for YOU. i.e when would you love to review stuff, do you like lots of lists or does it actually turn you off from doing it?
Do you like writing a journal- why do it if you don't, there are so many other ways...etc.

Good question to ask is:
how do you get the most important stuff into your head- how do you filter it from the "would be nice but isn't the first",
when do you do what, what's your stratey...

that's where a Good Coach comes in!!! I love all the seminars and events etc. but there is nothing like actually working on your own stuff....relating to you.

I highly recommend working with a coach. Yes of course that's because I am a coach ( hoooray! and I help people with exactly those questions...you see they say German people are known to be very organzied and efficient)
and also because that's the most certain way to grow- well, I love it. I work with Michael ( yippieeee)

Don't jump out of a plane but land it safely, transfer your passengers to the nicer one...Upgrade, baby that's what it's about.
Better movies, better view, better destinations. who's the Daddy?!

You can even change the movies in this plane!! It's not THAT hard.
Trust your heart when it speaks to you. Isn't that what you teach your children?
By the way- opportunities come all the time...it's not a once in a lifetime kind of thing unless you make it that way.

Hello lovely,
thank you for your answer. I have a funny idea that change involves change. Meaning that focussing on what you don't want and then wanting to change what you don't want is still hanging out in the realms of the "dont' want"
how about formulating what you want?
What is it you would really like? How would you like to be? What kind of life would you like to live? Who do you admire and what for? ( that can give you good clues)

You are on the right track. Thank you for asking the questions!!
Rock on

Eve ( who is also into acting and music and NLP and coaching)
ohhh and there is a song I wrote that deals with nothing ever seeming good enough cause trust me I've been there and done it ( and got over it and it's more than possible!!!)- you can listen to it on itunes....look for Diva eve and find the song "stupid"

love, eve
11  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: Over-excited! on: August 21, 2007, 09:12:23 AM
Hi there,
I also know this very very well. My suggestion is: start running workshops on getting exited for people who lack exitement in their life and get rich. wouldn't that be exiting?!
I think it's funny so many people are bored most of the time, not enough energy to make the coffe and we jump up and down like coffe beans and think of how to stop that...
It's all relative you see...exitement is a lovely thing: it's just energy!

Why not use it creatively, i.e to go run around the block or do some push ups, that way you get fit at the same time as happy!!

My CEO asked the other day: what is going on with you? i saw you skipping down the street. indeed I had a skip at 11am. But you see, I get back feeling great and make brilliant and convincing sales call. Now that's efficient. Any course on motivation would have cost them thousands!!

So my point is: it might be nice to see that you are a fantastic and energetic person and that energy loves to be nurtured. With that it will centre itself more easily, too.

Meditation is great by the way- I have done a fair bit and Yoga- I lived in a Yoga Ashram in NY for a while.
You don't have to meditate to be balanced but it does teach you so much ....

You might prefer dancing or spinning or whatever...
 Smiley
So the tip from me is: celebrate yourself, do something fun and THEN get back to the opportunity.
Sing the song: I am so exited- I just can't hide it from Footloose was it?

lol.
Love from Evelyne Tongue

PS: if you want to see what  makes me so exited I sometimes wake up in the night, go to www.divaeve.com
where you can listen to my songs...
12  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: sleeping through the night on: August 02, 2007, 09:27:53 AM
Hi Jeni,
sleeping is such a wonderful thing- what a good goal to set...have you used hypnosis yet?
I would also consider a session of NLP with a professional practioner- this is definately a subject to check out consciously and more importantly UNconsciously

take it easy!

14  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: career choices on: August 02, 2007, 09:23:02 AM
You know I like this example. So don't jump the plane. Parachute is not the question.

How about you learn flying?

 Smiley
I am sure you're wife appreciates a good pilot.
 Tongue

What you said about saving and investment...now THAT stuff is good for stability...like fuel in the engine...something that allows you to use your plane- the vehicle to get you from A to B, but different thing to deal with than the actual vehicle... hmmmm.

16  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: How do you stop thinking about something you don't want to think about? on: August 01, 2007, 10:09:11 AM
Hellooooooo

greetings from to the C from an I
How cool you are different- do you remember the best teams are made up of different quadrants. Even if it appears challenging at first.
She needs a good C and you will do well with an I around you. Tongue

Next step is a great opportunity to have an intimate conversation with yourself:

what in yourself hasn't developed for you to believe that she hasn't moved on at all?

When did you decide that reporting to someone was degrading?

Using the skills you have now, how can you become the true leader that you want to be- bearing in mind that the true leader doesn?t necessarily seek that position. ( see Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa etc.)

What a fantastic dilemma to be in- preserve the learnings- you are approaching a very important breakthrough for yourself.Wow!!

17  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: Weird coaching/therapy session... on: August 01, 2007, 09:19:40 AM
Dear Anja,

Certainly the weirdest thing ever and highly unprofessional- if this should ever happen to you again- and I hope it never EVER will, please leave immediately.
Are you sure this guy is a coach at all? Did you see certifications?
And disgusting comments as well. No way!
Where are you based? Maybe good idea to get a recommendation for a coach from someone who has already worked with him/her.

A coach will not make you focus on bad feelings. Our job is to get the best out of you and help you move from A ( where you are now) to B ( where you want to go), freeing up your inner resources and building your personal tool kit so you can actually go and do it.
And this will change your life.
Why not try one of the coaches who are around on this site? Shop around is my suggestion, you deserve the good side of our trade.
I offer 30mins free consultation for example so you could get a good insight into how I work and what you can expect to get out of the sessions ? should you be looking for a NLP practitioner/coach in London or be happy to work through phone.

All the best,
Evelyne

have a great day!!!!
19  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: career choices on: July 24, 2007, 07:51:18 AM
Hi Martin,
what a nice problem to have! Opportunities all round!!
There is only 1 that doesn't work: it's the one staying where you are. You express quite clearly that you have changed and are ready to step up.
Now the question is where you can do so most and if the return is what you want. I think money is also a form of appreciation and taking things seriously.
Why not have a constructive chat wiht your employer about the situation? Put yourself in the leadership role now and act like a leader does.
How can you be the best you can be today?
What is there to learn from this situation?
How can you find out about what's really going on- rather than interpreting it.
Smiley All in all I can say congratulations!! you are going places. WOW!!

21  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: Are there any techniques that can help my sex life? It's mainly in the mind! on: June 27, 2007, 11:07:52 AM
It is important to understand that fantasies are not about escapism, not about wanting things different than they are- it?s great to be happy where you are and that?s what coaching is all about as well, learning to be good where you are and moving from there.
The most important thing in a relationship is to relate. And this sounds like you guys need a little more relating.
Not interested doesn?t really exist, does it? Are you important-yes or no, and if yes  your desires are important, too- at least being open to them. I wish he is one of the clever men who realize that before loosing what is most dear to them.
Does he have any idea how much pleasure you could potentially give him? Women are the key to a man?s pleasure and the more they feel, the more he can access a world otherwise closed?women are divine. And the goodies are hidden deep inside- time to unlock!
I suggest you step into your own power and seduce him into wanting what is best for you both.

22  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: Are there any techniques that can help my sex life? It's mainly in the mind! on: June 26, 2007, 08:20:59 AM
HI Kristen,
time for a lady to intervene here...I know the feeling, been there, done it. always working on it- it takes a lot of wood to keep the fire burning.
The thing about loving relationship is, it's wonderful yet sex needs stimulation and a certain distance to create the friction you  need, and I am talking mental here.
there is a reason for "bad guys" being often very attractive to women and the nice guys being the friend. And that is that sex has to do with streching our mind and getting what we don't think we can have, fighting for it, there is an element of play and not knowing that creates excitement. think about what creates excitement generally in your life. is it the things you know or don't know?
So when you know the principle behind excitement, I recommend translating them to your sex life... yes, you know your partner I am sure, but as we never step in the same river twice, isn't it time you found out more about him? do you know his phantasies? Does he know yours???
I am talking dirty ones, not just the haystack and princess at the ball type stuff. sharing fantasies is powerful, making stories that place you in them is rather delightful- remembering that a phantasy is not necessarily what you would want in real life!! a lot of good fantasies better stay in the mind. But sharing secrets is very intimate.
Also how masculine and dominant would you like him to be behind closed doors and does he know that? does he know how?
If he needs to learn more- and I am sure everyone can, maybe a peak into good material would be useful. I recommend speaking to Thomas at the dating school, who has studied techniques and how to build attraction for 10 years. I am sure this could be very useful in a longterm relationship. www.thedatingschool.co.uk
even if it's not about dating. Thomas knows what he's on about. He is my boyfriend.
lucky me.
Does that help at all?

Hi Larry,
Oh wow! You sound amazing. I would really like to chat to you.
I see myself very clearly on very big stages throughout the globe performing uplifting and empowering music that moves people inside and out.
The style is witty pop/rock/ easy on the ear high on the energy.
I want to work with inspiring and professional people, and I want a fantastic team behind and beside me.
My idea is to combine the coaching with the music and bring transformation through the finest entertainment. I love twirling people?s energy in a more fruititious way so we all dare to do what we didn?t think possible and what makes us beam!
How can I reach you?

26  Coaching / Ask the Coach / how much do you pay for a coach? on: June 13, 2007, 11:56:20 AM
I am wondering….how much to pay for a coach…should I stick to coaching with my mates from the various training courses I take who are coaches and /or ongoing coaches or should I pay a professional one? Is it wiser to save the money on a coach to put it into a goal? It seems to be an either coach or get on with your goal question which really buggs me. I want to break through with my music which is aimed at people who go through change in their life i.e personal development. It means I need to get it produces first and foremost which costs money. If I spend the money on a coach, it’s not in the music, if I don’t the music might be there and then what- I already have tracks produced, I want to get them out there to the people and recoup so there can be a growing business. Can you help me answer this question? Kiss
27  Genius Catalyst / This, That and the Other / Re: Top of the Pops ? on: October 03, 2006, 03:32:40 PM
Hi guys!
I am a singer-songwriter and NLP practitioner...this is exactly what I do! Shocked
The idea is that music works on a different level than words and you certainly tap into the subconscious of people especially when they start humming or singing the song later again...Music sticks in your mind.
I write to connect people more to themselves, the songs are written from a very deeply honest place so that this tunes the listener into their own honesty.. I know we like to burry it sometimes , I am no exception but when it comes out, it's much easier to feel confident making your decisions knowing you are really with yourself.
I am using more and more NLP tools rather deliberately in my songs but not too overtly. Practitioners and coaches agreet that it's there but not in your face and that is important I think. You don't want someone "telling you" to relax but convey it in the sound of the voice, the words leading you to the next step on the way.
As lady luck wants it, there is a well-being promotion on the album now- till 6th October you get lots of self development goodies and coaching discounts, NLP discounts, $150 worth of goodies free with the Cd. Check it out on www.divaeve.com/cdoffer
you can find my music on www.amazon.co.uk, www.divaeve.com and of course on itunes and www.cdbaby.com/divaeve.

Rock on and enjoy. Words can go beyond words and music heals the heart.
thank you for bringing this up, keep on inspiring.
