1  Coaching / Ask the Coach / Re: Parenting on: July 16, 2007, 07:06:36 AM
Hiya

I agree with Dani, we say no to our children to keep them safe from harm, give them guidlines & boundries, which they test as its human nature from a very early age!

Boys and some girls lol...do lash out in ways that alarm a parent, how many times have you seen a child throwing a temper tantrum in the supermarket cos the marketing people put the sweeties near the checkout to tempt them, and mummy or daddie says no...they don't like it, but thats what makes I believe a good parent, the strength to say no, even when its easier to say yes most of the time, the easiest option right now, is mostly not the easiest option in the long term.

My oldest is now 8, and still feel like Im saying no all the bloody time sometimes, but the rewards are really worth it, as most of the time, hes inquisitive, polite, creative and very tallented, knows and understands rules, boundries, and good behaviour is always rewarded  Smiley

Hope that helped a little

Hey Anthony

I tried the smoothie route, but it really didn't work for me, I must have been doing something wrong Huh, as would be famished by 10am and end up eating more than would do usually, but that was before learned to stop eating when actually full lol...

Thanks Peter

Yes, Im taking my time over this, as don't want to waste good money on  a 'fake'!

I saw your posts about your retreat in Spain, it sounds wonderful, but couple of obsticles in the way, would have to really work on hubbie to be able to get away and have him look after the kids etc..

Also I suffer from PLE (polymorphic light erruption) basically I can't go in uva/uvb sunlight, had it since I was 13, but on my 4th year of light therapy and happy to say its working great, actually got to the seaside with the kids for the first time last year, and don't have to wear a veil in summer anymore  Grin

I don't know Spain at all, so not sure what the climate is like in the region you are in?

Smiley Am laughing here, as had the same situation last year when my son (who's a dancer) watched it over, and over and over again lol...

He does a fantastic version of bits of 'music of the night' makes me smile every time, sounds like your daughter has good taste  Smiley

Hi Angie

Im Nicky, wow you are a long way aren't you! What made you move out there?

My hubbie used to live in Sydney before we met, and really loved it out there.

I live in a small village in between Leeds and York, I will certainly keep an eye out for Nick on here, not seen him online yet though.

Hi Vernon,

Thanks for the advice re the other book, but yeah, I think Ive finally found something that actually works for me at last.

I feel sooo liberated finally being able to eat what I want instead of what I think I should, and its totally changed my whole diet, Im actually eating less bread and more veg in stir fry and even made a risoto for the first time yesterday!

More importantly, the book came with a cd, which Ive been doing daily, its very motivating and even though I haven't lost much weight, the pic on here is from last wed, and I feel like Im slimmer already :-) I weighed 15 stone after the birth of my daugher, my father died of cancer while I was pregnant, and I definately comfort ate during and for some time after the pregnancy. So its taken 5 years to get down to a size 12 again, just need to loose those last few pounds so that don't have a muffin top in my jeans lol Wink

Hi, sorry I was about as clear as mud then wasn't I lol...

I suppose Leeds is my nearest city, I live in a rural village in between Leeds and York.

I'll have a look at finding Adam Sargant.

Thanks for your advice Smiley

Hi

Im new the the site, just joined yesterday.

Im interested in finding out more information of past life regression therapy, and wanted some helpful advice if at all possible, maybe even a recommendation of a good local therapist, that doesn't charge the earth.

Thanks

23  Genius Catalyst / This, That and the Other / Re: Hi There on: February 10, 2007, 10:54:46 AM
Ha ha, thanks soo much guys, definately put a smile on my face lol  Smiley

I got the book as I used to be really small before I had the kids, and after the last one 5 years ago, Ive never regained my figure. I just really wanted to loose that last extra 10Ilbs that I just can't seem to shift. I can't diet, I enjoy my food far to much for that, and its a big part of my social life eating out at restaurants etc...So thought Id give Paul McKenna a try, and I really feel like its working already, although only shifted 1Ilbs so far, but really enjoy the cd, and find it really motivating!!
24  Genius Catalyst / Reviews / Re: What are your "must-see" films? on: February 09, 2007, 12:44:33 PM
my fave (must see) films would have to be :

Billy Elliott
Moulin Rouge
The Bridges over Maddison County
Between Heaven & Earth (I think that's the title lol)
Dracula
The English Patient
The Secretary
American Beauty
The Green Mile
The Age of Innocence

and nearly forgot to put Phantom, thought they made a great film version of it  Smiley
