Neil made a great suggestion that we include some recommended resources that we as fans of Michael have also found to be valuable.
Neil mentioned Paul McKenna and Richard Bandler in particular.
Are there certain sites and services you think might be helpful to others who browse this forum? Feel free to list them and their websites here!

I suppose all resources will have Michael's approval since they are on his site and therefore are "his" recommendations. I'm sure the first resources he will want are those he is in partnership with (Hayhouse, McKenna, etc). I would suggest making two sections: Michael's recommendations (Michael endorsed), and user recommendations (not endorsed). The caveat I would put on user recommended resources would be that it should to be related to the "self-help, self-improvement" genre somehow; otherwise you never know what you'll get.

I suggest- www.nlpmp3.com which has free interviews with a host of trainers from different schools of NLP including Richard Bandler, Michael, Paul McKenna, Steve Andreas and many others. We also welcome new suggestions for interviewees and the site has a massive newsletter subscriber list |

I'm a bit undecided on this one. Wouldn't that be like advertising for other sites? Maybe I misunderstand but I'm not sure how this would look like.
I picked the geniuscatalyst forum because I like the spirit of it, because I like to listen to Michael or read his stuff and because I like the people here. If I want to go to Hayhouse or Paul McKenna, I can do that, but I actually like that this forum is not cluttered with too many categories and stuff.
What I would like (this idea just came to me while I'm typing) would be a separate page - maybe outside the forum so it doesn't distract or disturb people - where all members could enter their own websites. I'm sure many of us have their own businesses, their own websites, but we don't want to use this forum to promote ourselves.
I think this could give this network a new dimension, because this community consists of i.e. coaches and also people looking for coaching. Maybe there's a simple way to create a small directory by name, region, category of business and the website name.
This way people could go to that page only when they are looking for something specific and it wouldn't be part of the general forums so nobody would be offended if anyone mentions their own business here.

Actually www.nlpmp3.com is a central site for a wide range of NLP trainers and not pro any individual trainer, so its a central resource. The newsletters from it also mention events by different trainers, so people can get an idea about te diversity in NLP. I am an SNLP licensed trainer and also on the accreditation and advisory board of ANLP which used to be at loggerheads with SNLP. This Sept I'm presenting at the Dilts IASH conference, so I'm not one for this ludicrous territorial style thinking, but rather promoting great thinking and co-operation! |

Not sure exactly what format this would take - maybe even just a list on here - I don't think it's bad to throw your own links in here for now just put (me) after it so people know. I for one would like to know what others participating are involved in. Another option is to include a post like this on his facebook group page - maybe a check these out category or something? How do you all feel about using the facebook group vs the forum and what should be appropriate for each? I'd love your thoughts.

Personally I have never used Facebook for many reasons including increasing incidents of data security in the UK, where people forget that info posted there can be very useful to less reputable types. It also shifts te emphasis away from a central site to effectively promote a social networking facility
Just a personal opinion...

I wouldn't mind Facebook but I'd prefer to keep it here. Not everyone is on Facebook, plus the flood of messages there can be overwhelming, so might be missed. I tend to ignore them anyway. Also because I think facebook messages are in addition to messages here, not replacing them. If it's important news, then I guess I'd have already heard about them here.
I'm also not really sure about the value, since probably everyone who's in the facebook group is here, but not everyone who's here, is also on Facebook.
I think a simple list, like you said, Terry, would be fine. As long as it's possible to search and filter it easily.

I really like this idea!
especially if it could be done in some geographically listed way...
coaches, groups, local networks (etc) in Los Angeles... London... Egypt... etc...
I guess it could even be done as a simple stick-pinned "Services Offered" at least to see if there IS a genuine need for it.

From my perspective, it would be great to have a specific page of links to legit resources - recommended only after being checked out and OK'd by Michael & company (ie. people like Terri and Elese).
Having spent hours (days, weeks) seeking, searching and researching on the Internet, I - like everyone else here, I expect - would welcome a credible source for resource. If links, how wonderful it would be to have a short description, even a few points, of said sites' offerings and specialties.
Having said this, one such site lights up like no other I've found - goodvibecoach.com
Jeannette Maw, Master Life Coach for Martha Beck, has a great eZine newsletter and blog (goodvibeblog.com). Her site and newsletter always have valued, credible resource links to a variety of subjects in the self and improvement life arena ... and my month of personal coaching with her was the best effin' money I ever spent. Honestly. There aren't pages of softening the blow selling before hitting you with cost, none of the "but wait - there's more" baloney either. Jeannette is definitely not one for The Brick (or does one have to be from Western Canada to understand that?)
That's my feeling. I have respect for those who obviously have respect for me.

For all those declutterers and life organizers out there I would like to recommend the following book; "Why am I so disorganised? Sort out your stuff" by Dr Marilyn Paul (ISBN 0-7499-2480-2) I am chronically 'organisationally challenged' and am on P121 of this book, and am already decluttering and carrying out my maintenance tasks with a sense of enjoyment rather than dread. My bedroom is cleared, my drive is deweeded, my laundry is all away and I have thrown out/given away 6 sacks full of clothes! I hope that it helps others out there too. Love Gill  |
