Hello

As an adventure of NLP, Hypnosis and accelerated learning, I am considering a putting together a series of articles, for the GC community, in word and PDF.

If you like this idea, and would like a specific topic covered, and there is enough interest, then, I would be happy to draw from my vast, eclectic knowledge to create such a series.

Place your topic of interest, in this thread and if there are enough people interested I will be starting this venture, in the latter part of January.

Sounds very cool, Jay - I'm sure it will be much appreciated, and assuming they're up to the standard you've demonstrated on the forums I'll be happy to post them in the reading room as well!

Hay Michael

That would be way cool,

Up to Standard, standard is like a ladder, where you start on a particular rudder, and through, creativity, determination, passion, a focus, clime up the rudders, to higher and higher standards, having an out let for creativity, allows the dissemination of ideas, and is one of the keys to the creations of new learning paradigms, my Nickname  is the oracle, as I have amassed an encyclopaedic, data bank of patterns, that would just go to waist if, didn’t do something with this huge data bank, so creating a series of articles, would be a delight..

Hi Jay,

I would like that a lot! I'm new to this forum and new to NLP and I'm finding out more about NLP every day and I'm getting more and more fascinated by it. There are so many things to explore that unfortunately also I'm getting all confused instead of focussed on one or only a few topics.
I am studying to become a coach right now and I really want to focus on the basics (questioning skills etc.) and other things that will help me to become a great coach, but I'm getting distracted by all the great stuff that is out there.

It would be nice to have a collection of articles that cover specific topics - maybe with links on how/where to learn more about it, so one could decide where to go into depth.
I.e. one of the things I have yet to understand is the "letting go". Where's the balance between focussing on reaching your goal and letting go of it? So far, when I got what I wanted after I let go, I didn't want it anymore and thought, what's the point? It's like finding something when you stop looking for it.

I'm looking forward to your articles!

Regards
Anja

Hi Anja

Thanks for your post, there are a host of ideas in your post that I will work on

Ok here is, a very sneaky way to, learn how to ask Good questions, pick a number of TV or radio interview programs, where you have one person asking his guest questions, you might need to record the show, then run through the questions, and write them out, and build you list of questions, yet pay attention to how, the person is reserving, the question, and notice his or he body language, and how they respond to the questions being asked, this will give the a general, visual record of how to notice how people respond to questions.

Then go to hay house radio, and find the pod cast loading bay, and find a host of people who do coaching in there shows, Like our very own Michael Neil, Wayne Dyer and any one else that fits your way of thinking, and list and copy down the questions they ask, take a little time to memories them, as you can only get out what you put in, and the self organizational mapping of the brain will create the generalized mechanism to allow you to get real good at asking the right questions, in just the right way.

You might have to at least, write out up 300+ questions, for the unconscious generalization to wire it’s self in, yet it’s worth the time.

Then if you want to feel comfortable asking questions, go and stand in front of a mirror and look in to you own eyes, with out braking eye contact, run through a series of questions, it dose not matter if you answer the questions to your self, just keep eye contact, with your self throughout the exercise, no more than 7 minutes, a few times a day, and in a very, very short time, you will have it.

What’s with the mirror, if you can hold eye contact with yourself, and feel at ease, and safe, then this ease and safety will project it’s self when you’re working with people, if you feel safe in your own presence and in the comfort of your own being.  Then this will open up an deeper bond, at another then conscious level, for you and the people you work with.

I better stop, just here.

Great tip, Jay, thanks!
I'm listening to Michael's shows for exactly that reason. I'm impressed how much you can get out of a person in just 3-4 minutes and afterwards they really feel "helped". Just by asking the right questions...
The idea of writing the questions down crossed my mind, but I haven't done it yet. Now that you also told me, I'll do it! Wink And the mirror excercise is also a good one!

Thanks

Hi folks, if you downloaded the first version of this article, then I am very sorry for not putting the appropriate warnings about the bad language, thanks to Michael who did the very right thing and deleted the first uncensored copy,  and kindly pointed out,  a few people might get up set, and well I don’t want that. So I have cleaned it up and it is now safe to read.

Ok Naughty NLPer sits in corner, and thinks, of a punishment, ok I am being chased by half eaten jelly babies,  and there are singing it’s a wonderful life. AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Hi Jay,

I'd love to read more valuable information from you and can't wait to begin the exploration, although obviously as you aren't beginning until January, I understand I will have to!  So for now I'm going to try out your ideas re: questioning.  I too am considering a career as a life coach, and like Anja find it very easy to get confused by the vast amount of great ideas, techniques and information out there.  Although, I love the confused state now as I know it is always followed by an Ahah moment and I just can't get enough of learning new things.  So bring it on  Smiley

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Julia

Thanks for your words, and it’s my pleasure, it maybe, that I will start the whole venture, a little sooner, than I was planning, I have been working for a while on a model that I have coined the fusion model, which blends, NLP/Erickson hypnosis/Metaphor Life-coaching and conversational NLP, plus some aspects from energy psychology, and some aspects from eastern philosophy “Tao” of the fusion of the genius mind a very special synergistic set of relationships.

An article series sounds great, and what with my being such a newcomer to the subject matter, I wouldn't discriminate based on topic; I'd read them all!

Hi Jay

If possible I'd like to know (via article from yourself or links to various theories and articles) how it is specifically that our human physiology can have an effect (negative or positive) on our state. I've heard Tony Robbins using this technique alot over the years and saying Physiology every other word but would like to know MORE about it and WHY it works. I have briefly tried my own google in the past, to which I was generally supplied with answers about how physiology is the study of plants, but nothing related to emotional response

Any responses appreciated  Smiley

Hi

I will give a quick fix now and cover a more detailed systems overview in article from, in the time to come.

If we use the analogy, that the human organism, is a hologram, meaning that all systems are connected and interconnected, and if we get the idea that the skin, is a biggest organ, that the body as, then under the skin we have muscles, then the skeleton, now if you take a little time to do this, sit in a up right and relaxed way, now is the can have a neutral expression of your face, then keeping the mouth in the same neutral place, allow your self to smile just from the eyes, and keep it there, for a while, now unless you have some nerve damage, you should have stated to lose hold of the neutral face and started to smile with your whole face.

Now as we are a holographic system there is no split between mind and body, and by holding onto thoughts of one kind or another creates a code in the system that creates a domino effect that happens in the skin, that connects to the muscles and nervous and endocrine system, and creates the Biochemical messages that produces the good or bad chemicals, that control your moods/states.

If you want to play with getting a real closer connection with your body, play with this. You need three glasses of water. In one glass put in a spoon of sugar, in the other put a spoon of salt, and the 3rd glass just leave it as is. You need to close your eyes and some one mix the glasses up. Now open your eyes, now your goal is to find the plan water. Play attention very carefully to what the information your body is giving you, and it can be very under defined, yet if you stick with it, till you get 8 out 10 finds right, you will be able to read your own body, and make adjustment in how you are doing things, that may have lead to something less positive.

The body and nervous system are very, very sensitive mechanisms, the task is away of training you to pay attention to the body talk, if you are able to listen to your body and the way your nervous system is talking to you, then you have a wider set of choices about how to choice to run the states.  It gives you away of picking up on information that we generally miss until it is to late and we are in a state that may be not the best for the task at hand, it may be a little out of the box, yet it’s a very powerful skill, to be able to catch your habituated process in action and in doing so give you the choice to ever run with the habituated behaviour if it is going to serve it’s purpose, or you can stop the process because you have awareness of what is happening, and choose a different way of reacting to the given situation. Now I know I did not cover the inductions very well, so I will make it some what easy to play with.

You have your three glasses, and they are set up, you ask your self should I drink out of glass 1? Then pay attention to what internal information you get, once you get and answer yes/no go on to the next glass, ask the same question, should I drink out of glass 2? And again pay attention to what you body is telling you, and make a note for yes or no, and do the same for glass 3, now if you get 2 yeses, then put them two glasses to the side, and do the process again with the 2 glasses, playing very close attention to the information you get from your body, once you feel you have found the uncontaminated water take a little sip. If you found it well done if not, then relax and repeat the process over and over, till you can read your own body signals. And get 8-10 in a row right.

Now you don’t have to do anything, it’s just one way of getting a more refined sensitivity, to how your body reacts in the world.

J

PS it’s because you don’t want to drink the contaminated water that your body will give you a lot of information to pick up on.
