Hi I am a mother of three living in a small town in North East Louisiana. I happen to be a pretty good artist (born and educated in Russia). My husband works in our small town and when people interested in art found out what I can do, I have students lining up trying to get in to learn to paint and draw. I  started teaching occasionally, but without taking on MORE students I am not making money. Everyone tells me I need to take more people in. I even have a place where I can teach. The last step is to get equipment (easels etc) and advertise, and let everyone know that I am open for business. But I am SO RELUCTANT. I want to paint and not teach. I feel like I have so little time that all of it will be taken up by teaching. I am very involved with my kids and the youngest one is still nursing (ALL THE TIME!).
My husband and every one around me beg me, ask me and even insist that I do it. At this point I need to either stop it teaching all together or go all the way and I feel so so unsure and "low energy" about.
Help!

Which one of the two options do you want to pursue ? Do you know? If you weren't influenced by anything outside of you, which would you choose ?

Seems to me, you DON'T need help here.
You just need to read your own post.
What does it say?
The way I read it, it says you do NOT want to be teaching. You want to be painting.
So, do you HAVE to teach to make a living?
Will you survive, if you don't?
Yes you will.
So don't.
