Hi there
I recently came across Afformations as opposed to Affirmations.  The nutshell definition:

Affirmation:  fostering a belief that "a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything."[1] More specifically an affirmation is a carefully formatted statement that should be repeated to one's self and written down frequently. For an affirmation to be effective, it needs to be present tense, positive, personal and specific.
EG:  I am happy, healthy and wealthy

Afformations:  empowering questions (NOT “affirmations”) that cause your mind to focus on what you really want, and stop focusing on what you don’t want.
EG:  Why am I so happy, healthy and wealthy

Once you ask a question of your mind, whether you know it or not, your mind automatically starts to Search for the answer without your conscious volition.  The point of The Afformation Method is not to find “the answer” to your questions. The point is to change what your mind automatically FOCUSES ON. Since you are now going to FORM positive questions that assume that what you want is already true, your mind has no choice but to find a way to make it so.

I'd love to hear other thoughts, ideas, suggestions on this (especially Michael!).
Cheers
Cathy
