I have recently picked up journaling. Every morning before doing anything else, I write for 10 minutes. Then I do the things I need to do in the day. If the topic in the morning deserves further working out I take up the issue later in the day. Journaling has proved a powerful ally in solving many an issue for the day.

Personally I prefer to write longhand on plain white paper with a fountain pen.

I am interested in learning from you what your experience is and what tips you would like to share on getting the most out of journaling.

Look forward to reading from you

Hi
Glad to hear you have begun journalling. I started doing so every morning a few years ago doing "Morning Pages" ( a practice from Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way). What I have found works for me is: a cheap A4 lined journal, writing in longhand with a cup of coffee, up before everyone else.
I've noticed that over the years it's gone from being all my "story" to becoming more reflective, more focussed on the good things in my life...more observation and insight...
I really miss it when I don't do it...and it can be really interesting to read it back and get reminders of what your week was like.
I have found it a really powerful practice...keep it up! It's the regularlity that makes it good!

Best wishes
Anne

Hi

I enjoy journaling, and find that it’s a very good way of letting things go, you know the time when your in the bank and the casher is having a less then happy day and takes it out on the general public, and when it become your turn, you just know that you are going to make her day, because you have a pile of change, that you need to deposit and even though you may have all your NLP skills in tacked, that look just burns your heart right out of your chest, and you start to feel for the poor human. And enter second passion fully, and do a full DTI DEEP TRANCE IDENTIFICAION with the casher, and just feel all that emotion welling up, then you slap yourself out of the self imposed trance, and get on with your day, then the brain starts up, and started replaying the movie, of the bake casher, and how something just did not feel right, over and over again, then you are at home and you write it out adding a few special effects, like a machinegun ok maybe not that it could be an idea, and then once you have it out of your system, the mind is clear and you can get on being, doing and getting on with other things.

I love journaling too. However my problem is that I can't stop at 10mins or so. Over the time my jounrnal became longer and longer, it became unable for me to do it in the morning coz I've got to get ready for work and I'd be late. Even at night, once I start journaling it'd take a couple of hrs usually. I mean, I can write short one, but I can't get into my "insights" or tap into my inner knowing part unless I journal for a while. So as much as I love it, it's started to wear me off lately, coz writing for hours exhausts me. But I want to tap into my inner knowing and get an insight from there.  ...Does anyone have similar situation?  Or am I not supposed to throw a new question in someone else's thread like this? If so, my apologies, for I had just joined this community and I'm still new so.. I'd appreciate it if someone could answer my question for me!

Remembering passion..
