Hi, my first time posting here.  i am fortunate enough to have a job that allows me a lot of free time.  I am usually on call about 20 days out of the month.  Sometimes, on those days they don't even call me to work.  I was looking to find a job on the side that will inspire  and also would give me an extra income.

I was wondering, how did some of you found out what you liked to do.

Also, how did you know if that job was your calling, or some of your fantasies from your childhod.

Hi Nad,

Interesting post.

Can i suggest you check out the 90 day money game threads.

You may just pick up some ideas about what to do with your spare time.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Nad,

Don’t be too quick to dismiss those ‘fantasies from your childhood’.

I often think that children are far more connected with their true inner desires and enthusiasms than we are taught to be as Proper Grown-up People.   Sad

I remember as a 12 year-old desperately wanting to be a WWII fighter pilot. I had the whole scenario, bedroom ceiling festooned with model aircraft etc etc. The fact that the closing date for the job had long since past didn’t seem to occur to me at the time!

Anyway in due course I became a Proper Grown-up Person, the model aircraft were consigned to the bin but somehow the fantasy of flying wouldn’t go away. Finally at the age of 48 I started flying. And it was just as much fun as I knew it was going to be at the age of 12.

These 12 year olds can be a lot wiser than we give them credit for   Smiley

Take it easy,

Tim.

Thank you all for help.  I will try brainstorming, and see what happens.  I liked Michaels idea that we should aks ourselves "What I would like to do today", and see if that answer would help me find out what I find inspiring to do with my spare time.

Thanks for your help, I will stay in touch.
