Hello!

I would love to hear from people who have taken the Abundance Course. Can you recommend it? If yes, in what way did you benefit from it?
If no, why not? I saw that Michael lists it in his Market Stall.

Thanks for your Feedback!

Best,

Simone,

Check back again at the end of this month. I am going to the Glasgow training and will report back.

Update - I've been listening to the CD and watched the DVD I was sent. I'm having great difficulty working with the process so far, a real blockage.

The process seems to be along these lines regaridng what ever feeling it is that you are considering

Could you welcome this feeling?
Could you let go of it?
Would you?
When?

My difficulty is that I can't "compute" what it means or feel like to welcome a feeling. Also if I have a negative feeling, such as "I'm worried that the job I want to take won't pay enough for me to survive", whilst I could intellectually say "yes i can let go" because intellectually I know that we choose our feelings - this doesn't change the reality of the situation. It might make you more relaxed about it happening but I don't see how it changes the reality i.e. stop whatever it is you're worried about from happening.

I also can't yet see how this leads to the manifestation of greater income, health etc. However, these are simply interim thoughts from someone who has not (yet) been on the course and fully admits to not understanding the method. I'm hoping that the course will give me the "aha!" moment I'm looking for. I am NOT saying that I don't believe in it, or that it won't work.

Micheal, since you've been there, done that, can you offer any guidance on how this works, and any examples from your own application of it?

Hey, I just noticed something. "The Abundance Course" and "Release Technique" appear to be the same thing, but the "Sedona Method" seems to be a different commercial vehicle. I have no idea if they are the same thing?

Does anyone else know? I am going on the "Abundance Course"/"Release Technique" next week but I've been reviewing the materials from the Sedona Method.

Yes, I'm thoroughly confused now! Can anyone help please? Michael?

Thanks and love,
Martin

Hi Martin,

I'm no expert on the Sedona method/Release technique, but I've experimented with the techniques they offer enough that I might be able to help.

AFAIK Larry Crane and Hale Dwoskin were both students of Lester Levinson, and some time after he died they went their separate ways, formed separate companies, and both allude to themselves being the "real" continuation of Levinson's work in their advertising. Good to know that it's not just NLP that results in dramatic splits and separate "camps"!

My experience is only with the Sedona method. I listened to the tapes about ten years ago, and I still own the book, which contains all the essential ideas of the audio course. I have never had any instant, amazing, dramatic results with the course, however I do genuinely notice a sense of lightness, energy and freedom after working with the questions for 20 mins. In fact sometimes there are real insights, and I find myself laughing. I just try not to do it in Hale Dwoskin's tonality or after the seventeenth "could you let it go" I start to feel I'm trapped in a new age retreat with windchimes and dreamcatchers! (apologies Hale) I also don't fully buy into the theories and models they provide of how the process works. But that's another matter...

The particular objections you raised will most likely be dealt with by your course. For example, you may be right - the job you want to take might not pay you sufficient money. And you may need to thoroughly consider all the options. But worrying - ie. running through negative scenario after negative scenario, steadily building up your cortisol levels and repeatedly asking yourself "what if this happened" and "what if that happened" may not actually make you a clearer, wiser decision maker. You might consider whether you really need to worry and feel bad to be able to objectively consider the advantages and disadvantages of the job. Does worrying reliably help you make the best choice? What would it be like if you could make your decisions, even ones where there was an element of risk, by feeling calm, good, and carefully evaluating the pros and cons? Anyhow, you should find releasing during decision making is part of your course.

Also, even if you feel stuck, you can notice what it's like to sit with the stuckness, to sit with the wanting to change it, and allow yourself to want to change the stuckness as much as you do. It sometimes reminds me of a westernised form of Buddhism, sitting with what is, and ultimately loving what is, rather than latching onto memories and projections of the future. But I'm still a beginner at that one!

Finally, when I began doing it I think it's fair to say I felt as blocked as you have done up to now. But if you stick with it, you might well find a gradually increasing sense of opening, spaciousness and calm that can take you by surprise.  Smiley

All the best,

Joseph.

Hi Martin (and anyone else who's done the Abundance Course)

I was wondering how the Release Technique weekend went.  I'd love to hear your honest feedback.  I was given the Abundance course a few years ago but wasn't interested in it at the time.  I have soooooo many things to read and listen to at the moment, and I try to stick to one thing at a time. I've just started on Paul McKenna's book and maybe could to the Abundance Course/Release Technique next?  Do you recommend it?

I attended the Release Technique weekend in Glasgow with a friend of mine.

I did find the language a bit easier to get my head around compared to the free material i'd recieved from The Sedona Method. There were lots of exercises to work through with others in the group which were very good.

You are warned right at the beginning that the ego will fight this process tooth and nail - and that you have the power to choose - whether to decide to listen or not. There were many useful distinctions although I remain confused about some items. However attendance on the Abundance Course gives you access to a support helpline free of charge (save for the call costs to LA) which I think must be pretty much unique.

I know that there were a lot of people who made significant progress. However, I had significant difficulty in being able to access my own feelings/emotions (I'm too "left brain" I guess!) but I'm still learning to use it and will continue to do so. My ego screamed its head off all weekend and I had some very challenging times. By the time I'd got that in some kind of control the course had finished. I might have been better off doing the seven day version.

The facilitator, Ken, was a great guy. Very calm and centred (as you might expect) and really knew his stuff.

I have noticed that I'm eating a lot less since the course!

All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend it with the caveat that you really need to be prepared to work at it. I don't think I tried hard enough, but I'm still learning! The only other comment that I would make is that I feel that the audio version of the course should be included with the cost of the course for continued learning. It was available on sale at over 100 pounds which I feel was too much on top of the course price.

They will come and do a weekend course in your area if you can get 25 or more interested people.

I have the DIY at home version of the Abundance Course.
The first time I tried to do it, I couldn't get through it.   It was just so different and uncomplicated, I guess.  So I stopped and put it away on a shelf somewhere.
Granted, at the time, I was also trying to "make things happen" as in pushing and being impatient.

About a year later, I listened to one of the Wealth Club recordings.   (I think it was July or the one before or after it) where Michael used some exercises from the Abundance Course.  And for whatever reason, I got what the Abundance course was.  I have since gone through it once.   And I'm now going through it more slowly and thoroughly again.  (Like 1 exercise a week)

I have seen a lot of changes.  Particularly when releasing on my goals.  I have either accomplished most of the ones I've worked on or seen significant improvement in their progress.

I listened to the audio course just recently. For me, it is a breaking down of the illusions we create. Almost every question was ultimately about one of three illusions we create: Acceptance (of self and from others), Control of our environment, and/or Security. Once we see that all three of those ideas don't really exist as "things" in reality, and are really just mental constructs, removing them allows us to be freer. All three ideas come from fear; and not really a healthy kind but a limiting kind of fear. Fear has a use: keep you alive. But taken too far, fear will keep you "safe" when it isn't necessary. Fear of falling off of that cliff: good. Fear of public speaking: mind created illusion--no longer applicable to current social structures (since being boo'd off of a stage is not the same as being driven from our cave and clan).

The Abundance course was useful to me to see what level(s) of fear I have embedded in my daily activities I wasn't aware of.
