This was my score.

My angles and spinning objects in my mind were good but my empathy was waaaaaayyyy below the average.

Using the index/ring finger ratio it said I had a female brain but all other tests say I've a male brain. And it also said the right side of my brain is dominant. I would be interested to know how common that is because I always hear about the left hemisphere being mostly dominant. And an another thought came to mind. I've seen hypnotists use both the clasping of hands and putting palms together. Are they secretly looking for signs of dominance and type of brain?

In my case the left side of the brain is dominant which I found a bit odd, since I always thought that was the "male" side? On the other hand I can pride myself in analytical and logical thinking... except for the shapes - I totally failed there...
I'm also toootally empathic, which I think comes in handy if I want to be a coach... Wink

I scored 50 on the female side so I guess I'm totally average...  Undecided

Since I can't tell from either your nick name or your profile here if you're a boy or a girl, I can't comment on your question of how common your score is...   Cool

In any case, my left index finger is 8mm longer then my right index finger - what does that say about me???

Hi Aniinl. I'm a guy and I have an average male brain.

I was reading this article http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/science/article2434432.ece about how autism could be caused by an extreme version of the male brain. In turn this causes a severe lack of empathy. My empathy score was pretty bad which is more than likely accurate thinking of my interaction with humans in general. I have gotten a lot better with age. Coaching at this point in my life is out of the question but not ruled out. I'm actually quite good one to one when I'm imparting knowledge although I can be a bit aggressive and intense in my delivery. What area of couching are you looking at?

It means your right index finger is 8mm shorter than your left index finger  Tongue

Did a short test for left and right hemisphere dominance and now it appears my left brain is dominant! Saying that for a few of the questions I could have went either way.

You responded as a right brained person to 8 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 11 questions. According to the Hemispheric Dominance test, you use the left side or your brain the most.

Hahahaa, nice to meet you!

Yes, I've heard about this, too (re autism) and I totally believe it. It's a pity that the human part - the empathic part - gets lost with autistic people, as otherwise I have a feeling they are much higher evolved than us "normal" people. Well, I don't know. But the amount of information they can take in - which we filter - wow. It makes them extremely smart but on the other hand unable to cope with other stuff.
If you're interested in that, I'm sure you've read the book "The curious incident of the dog in the night time"? I loved that book. It taught me so much about autism and it's one of the best written books I've ever read - so comic and tragic at the same time.

Still a lefty...

Hey, stupid question - what if you're left handed? Is your right side of the brain then also on the left? I mean, are they switched?  Roll Eyes Probably not... otherwise all these tests would be useless and they should ask you if you're lefthanded first. Or did they?

Yeah, a very left brain-ed and tending-towards-autism-answer... Wink

I was thinking something similar myself. I found this little snippet

Quote
"According to most experts, about 90 percent of the world's population is right-handed. Of the remaining 10 percent, about half are "strongly" left-handed. Which is to say, in about 5 percent of people, the right hemisphere is dominant and controls language.
Almost twice as many males as females are left-handed. And according to British psychologist Marian Annett, more than twice as many artists, musicians, mathematicians, and engineers are left-handed as would be expected by chance. [...] About 10 percent of left-handers suffer from language disorders and reading disabilities, while only 1 percent of right-handers do. And recent studies suggest that left-handers are three times more likely to suffer severe migraine headaches and certain types of autoimmune diseases than are right-handed people.

According to Harvard neurologist Norman Geschwind, the cause for left-handedness may lie in testosterone, the male hormone. Geschwind believes testosterone slows the growth of the left hemisphere, thus favoring greater development of the right. "Consequently, males end up right-handed less often than females."

"Understanding Human Behavior" by McConnel, James V, p39.

I'm right handed but my left thumb rests on my right thumb when I clasp my hands. Although there are differences in the structure of both sexes brain I think they are both capable of doing each others job. And as for dominance I'm not convinced that overall there is a dominant hemisphere. Each hemisphere may be dominant in a certain area but how do you quantify what one is in charge? Doing a lot image streaming at the moment and it's all team work I can tell you!

Quote
I'm Bigger, and Bolder, and Rougher and Tougher, in other words Sucker, there is no other...no other...I'm bigger, and bolder, and rougher in other words sucker there is no other,I'm the one and only Dominator, I'm the one and only Dominator

Wanna Kiss Myself

Human Resource
Had to get that out my head.

I've heard of it but never read it. I'll add it to my list!
