I am a self taught kind of person I have learnt much this way---I have a couple of books on NLP and am addicted to listening to Micheal on my ipod as I perform my current day job-I listen to about 3 hours a day of Micheals shows and any other material I can get of the net. Can i teach my self NLP and then use it in my practise. Has anyone out there taught themselves?

Hi Astro,
I believe you can learn a lot from books etc, but i also feel the biggest part of learning NLP is doing it, its practising it, and i think that needs to be with someone experienced on the subject.
You can learn to change a engine on a car from a book, but the book just dont tell you it all, there are some things you wont know until you have actually done it. You wont know how the grease feels on your hands, how tight a bolt can be, whats tight to one person is not to someone else.
You have to get out there and do it, but i feel you do need to learn with someone who knows it as well, so you learn the little things to look for.... when your watching someones breathing, one person you will notice it in their chest, another in their tummy, another by the rise and fall of their shoulders... the feeling of pacing etc..

Hugs
Michelle
