Hi. I'm just reading Dynamic Learning at the moment. More specifically I've just read the chapter on the spelling strategy. I've come across this strategy before in Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins. Dynamic Learning gives a far more comprehensive description and has many helpful tips. Now for simple words such as "red" and "bean" and "curry" I find the technique works wonders as I can easily visualize these short words and read it letter by letter from right to left. My problem comes with longer words. I can chunk them into 3 letter blocks but I can't fit the whole word into my field of vision. Take the word "chrysanthemum". I can look at the word and understand its meaning instantly but when I try to see the word as a whole... to be able to take in the whole word as one block even when it is written down I can't do it yet. I still have to move my eyes across the word from left to right. Do you think I can see the word without having to move my eyes so that I take like a snapshot and be able to see the entire word? Or is it more basic than that?

Brian

PS. Used Google spell checker for this with only one mistake.. damn that chrysanthemum! Tongue

Hi Brian

Ok come and play, just for a few minutes, just walk out side and go and stand  in front of your house,  now how much of your house can you see?  And just step a little more back so you can see the whole front, back or side, now just how big is your house? in comparison, to your word?  So have a go with this idea, imagine that you have a big blackboard that you can move forward and or backwards, and it’s the same size as your house, now imagine writing your word on the board, in big bright colours, once you have the word there push the black board of and as you do notice more and more of the word. I think you will be able to play with this enough now to work with any word.  Tiny words huge house if you can see your house just fine then a little tiny word is no problem.

Thanks again Jay. That works wonders! In my previous attempts the words were pretty close up and I did push them out further but only about a foot. Now pushing the blackboard further and further back I can see the whole word. I probably would have got their on my own with practice but you have accelerated the process so cheers. Cool
