I really loved the show with Baerbel (Barbel) Mohr. I have listened to it twice.
Michael, I have to say the show was one to keep in the old iPod. Baerbel's joy, delight , and wonder shines right through the podcast radio waves. She was a great inspiration for me, and I found your questions to her brilliant.
I have never heard of hopping (don't even know if I'm spelling it right) or its Hawaiian equivalent. My brother-in-law, who lives in Spokane, WA, lost his job as a pharmacutical rep just before Christmas. When let go, his boss said, "If you can hang in there, we'll bring you back in February for an interview for a possible re-hire." He had that interview the other day...and did not get re-hired. Thank God that my sister has a full-time job managing a doctor's office, for which we are all grateful.
My brother-in-law and my sister--and their four delightful children (ages 10, 14, 15, and 20)--have really had a financial tornado in their lives for the last five years. Some of it was bad decisions, but a lot of it has just been hard knocks, and bad luck.
I would love to send some "hopping" love to them. They are really good people, hard working (when given the chance), very compassionate, very giving to others. I would really love to see them catch a bit of a break.
I would imagine that, given the economy, there are others out there on the forums who are either experiencing this kind of thing first hand...or know someone who is. If hopping is the thing that can bring a bit of relief (even if it's only emotional, rather than material), then bring it on!
Does anyone know where I might read more about this online? I did not see it on Baerbel's website.
Love to all of you! We're in this together...
