Hi all,

Wonder if anyone could tell me what I probably already know  Wink

I am in a position where I am aiming for my goal to be a full-time Hypnotherapist and also to concentrate on a part-time side line in audio equipment supply aimed mainly at the therapy market.

I am currently working full-time selling audio equipment for a company and have been doing so for over 10 years. I have a good amount of knowledge in this field.

I am finding it harder and harder to concentrate on my "proper" job as I have so much I want to do with my own projects- I love doing my thing and want to do it more and more.

I had planned to phase my stuff in over time (weekends for the Hypnotherapy and spare time during the day on the audio business) but I'm not sure it is working. I feel the need to do this for security, but another part is telling me to just jump and go for it.

My main fear is (as far as I can see) that I rely on my regular wage due to repayments on loans, credit cards etc as well as normal monthly bills. It is almost as if I know I would succeed if only I could freeze all living expenses for 3 months while I got down to it!

So I guess what I am asking is if anyone else has been though this kind of dilema and if so, what happened?

Been meaning to post this for a while but just got the courage to!!!

Hey, Lee -

Let me give you the 'sensible' reply first, which is that I always recommend my clients have at least 3 months living expensed put by (some prefer 6 or even 12) before 'jumping' - the analogy being to jump out of an airplane without a parachute is crazy, not brave.

Having said that, there is a rather wonderful saying which says "leap and the net will appear"...

Happy exploring,

Thanks Michael!

I think I'd go with the parachute- those guys holding the net sometimes pull it away at the last minute as a joke!

I keep forgetting that I am working towards it and that I can do both in the meantime until I have my parachute ready (and the reserve, and the reserve reserve!)
