Hello everyone!

I am new on this board. I LOVE listening to Michael on HayHouseRadio, he truly is a Genius!! Cheesy

I would like to ask for some support on a project I am working on. I actually got this idea for it like 2 or 3 years ago. The idea was to create a supportive online community. From my experience a lot of people don't have much support in their lives. In families especially, people just repeat old patters of criticism and bringing each other down trying to be superior. So I would like to create a place full of positive energy, where people would support, inspire and uplift each other. I actually took a step toward this by reserving a domain name, but that was back in November. I really need to commit more to this vision and making it happen and would really like to know what you guys think.

Thank you!

I just love supportive online communities. In fact, my favorite one just disbanded, and I'm really missing it. Do you need something in particular? Maybe I could help you.

I would certainly love a place like that to go to. I don't have enough support in my life so I think it is a great idea!

What is it you need help with? I have experience setting up forums and web sites so just shot if you need anything.

Hi girls!!

Thank you so much for the support and interest!! Smiley

Basically I just need to keep taking action into making it happen. I thought I could do it alone, but now I am realizing with some support and some push I could do it much faster. Plus it is really motivating to see interest, 'cause I guess one of my fears that kept me in inaction mode was 'what if noone is interested?'

Basically the biggest help from you guys would be once the site is up, would be to keep it going, and spreading some positive energy. The ironic part is that I always was sort of a loner in away, preferring to just do things by myself. Now I am realizing that this is not serving either me or other people. Sharing and support and inspiration is such an amazing thing!! And people are so awesome!  Cool

We can reach so much further with love and support from other people, and then in turn give the same back.. and it just multiplies!

Thanks again girls. Keep asking how it's going, don't let me slack Wink I tend to procrastinate, I even procrastinated with posting here, I had thought about it hearing Michael mention the board on the radio. Anyway, I'm finally taking action. and since the momentum is building up I guess everything should be just fine.

Thanks again Jodi and Niki!
Blessings!

Egle

Hi there coo

I have been on a number of forums spreading over a few years now, i think what makes a good forum work is one  that has good administrators, ones that are laid back enough to allow what can be heated topics, but ensuring respect is kept at all times. One thing i notice regarding this forum is that Michael pops on and off here a lot during the day and i get the feeling he looks at everything being posted.
A good forum is about respect, freedom, good subject and very good administrators.
One idea is to go to a lot of forums on line and see what they are doing right and wrong, some forums develope cliques which i feel is never a good thing as it makes new people feel very left out in the cold and not very welcoming.
Plus if there is a good forum out there thats already doing the same field as your interested in, you may ask yourself why do you actually want to set up one when something is doing the same job.
I personally would not set up a forum like this one as i feel its doing a great job with amazing people in its own right.
Though i know other forums can be a bit stuffy and there is room for improvement  Wink

You also have to ask yourself what do you actually gain from one, what is your goal, how much time are you commiting to one, how much true help will you have on board, not people saying they will help and never showing up. Look at your aims, your goals and work back from that to find the steps you need to take to achieve it.

I have a friend who has her own forum and she is very dedicated to it, but i also am very aware that it absorbs a huge amount of her time as well, its almost a full time commitment without any financial gain but finacial lost due to paying servers etc.
Make sure you look at every aspect and then decide.

Love
Michelle

Hi girls!!  Smiley

Thank you for your support and your ideas and views. I was just listening to Michael's show about making success fun, and one of the things he said was that having a lot of support to cushion you so to say helps a lot and makes it a lot more fun. And that is what I feel I get from you guys and I just want to let you know how very much I appreciate it!! Smiley
And he was also talking about having a WOW goal/project/vision.. and I feel that this is it for me.. for the moment Smiley
I already started working on it, and the more steps I take the more thoughts and ideas come to mind. If nothing else I will definitely get a lot of programming experience from this!! Smiley

Have a beautiful day!!
